But allow us to also explain a bit about our overall company, Aotearoa New Zealand Fine Wine Estates.
Aotearoa New Zealand Fine Wine Estates (AONZ) is based in Hawkes Bay in the north island and is the parent company responsible for a family of three wine brands: Pyramid Valley, Lowburn Ferry and Smith and Sheth CRU (website soon to come). Between these three wine brands, our reach spans both the north and south island of New Zealand, with acclaimed vineyards in Central Otago, North Canterbury, Hawkes Bay and Marlborough. Our aim as a company that represents some of the best vineyards in New Zealand is to share the pleasure, culture and craft of wine.
Each one of our three wine brands is unique and has its own story to tell. Pyramid Valley’s story involves a philosophy of biodynamic winemaking and gently nurturing wines that breathe of the special place from which they come. Lowburn Ferry’s story speaks of the rich history and precious ancient river terrace soils of the Lowburn subregion in Central Otago. Smith and Sheth is our flagship brand, co-founded by Steve Smith. Steve is renowned for establishing Craggy Range Winery and is also one of few qualified Master of Wine's based in NZ. The Smith and Sheth CRU wines represent the uniqueness of people, land, life and being. Made in a négociant-style, the CRU range is made from hand-selecting the best fruit from exceptional vineyards only.
This is an exciting time for us. Not only have we opened our urban cellar door and evening wine lounge in downtown Havelock North, but we have also launched a VIP tasting studio, which delivers a full sensory journey across New Zealand’s wine regions, using wine as the vehicle. These venues allow us to deliver a high-end wine tasting and wine-bar experience and reinforce the fine wine credentials of the AONZ wine brands all in one place.
Ok…so there’s the spiel. Hope we sold you!
