This role is based at the spectacular Mission Estate in beautiful Hawkes Bay.

The appointee will lead our Cellar Door team, so will be able to directly influence and enhance the visitor experience at Mission Estate. You need to be an experienced people manager with a proven record of inspiring high performance and developing positive team culture.

It goes without saying that you must be passionate about wine. Previous industry experience, preferably with premium brands and/or relevant industry qualifications, are desirable.

We are re-developing our in-bound tourism offering so there is plenty of scope in this role to apply your creative flare and commercial acumen to new initiatives in tourism, events, hospitality and our on-site accommodation.

We want to grow our digital presence and deliver successful direct-to-consumer initiatives online so you will need an understanding of digital marketing and experience with online sales and social media promotions.

The successful candidate must be professional and dedicated to sales and exceptional customer service. You will be an enthusiastic ambassador for Mission Estate Winery and inspire your team to follow your example.

Our Cellar Door is a seven-day operation and flexibility around hours will be required, including some weekend work. In the busy summer season it is a fast-paced environment. Strong presentation skills are helpful, as we conduct large group tastings and history tours.  Proven success in sales is required.

This opportunity could suit applicants from a background in wine, sales, tourism, hospitality or other relevant experience. The key elements are commercial acumen, skilled people leadership and a drive to deliver excellence to all our visitors.
