An opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Cellar Operator to join our team at our Matua Marlborough Winery. Reporting to the Cellar Manager, this position carries responsibility for performing cellar activities safely, effectively and efficiently to produce wines of the highest quality.
Maintain product quality throughout all cellar operations
Ensure the quality, food safety, health, safety and environment standards are maintained
Work with the cellar and with the winemaking team to ensure product quality and production schedules are met
To perform, continually develop and enhance cellar practices to optimise equipment, systems and personal effectiveness
Ensure all cellar operation records are filled out correctly and in full as a true representation of the operations completed
With strong practical winery experience and excellent decision making skills, successful candidates will need to be strong communicators and have the ability to effectively plan, organise and problem solve. We are looking for a candidate who is motivated and passionate about wine and thrives on active team involvement and achieving results. A good understanding of hygiene principles that relate to food and beverage handling is key.
