We have a number of very exciting opportunities within the Wairau and Awatere Valleys for Machinery Operators and Vineyard Assistants.

Machinery Operator:

In this role you will be carrying out vineyard machinery operations as planned by the Vineyard Manager including but not limited to: crop spraying, harvesting, trimming, mowing, weed spraying and any other machinery operations required. You will also be doing irrigation and trellising maintenance, vineyard development, vine pruning and other vineyard tasks as required.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Good attention to detail in all operations to achieve optimal fruit and wine quality.
  • Great initiative and drive for continuous improvement in vineyard operations.
  • Excellent communication and a commitment to workplace safety.
  • Minimum class 1 driver licence - Over-row machinery experience would be an advantage.

Vineyard Assistant:

In this entry level role, you will be the man or woman on the ground, doing irrigation and trellising maintenance, vineyard development, pruning and other vineyard tasks as required. This role is the first step to learning how a vineyard runs its day-to-day operations and would be suitable for a school leaver or someone interested in beginning a career in viticulture/vineyard operations.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Minimum class 1 driver licence - Tractor or machinery experience preferred.
  • An interest in vineyard operations and a love for the outdoors.
  • High levels of motivation and energy.
