Divino Winery is located in Germany’s cool climate region of Franconia – North Bavaria.
On average we process 3,5 milion litres per year on our 360 ha (889 acres) sized estate with 33 grape varieties. In past decades, we won international awards several times, aiming to consistantly ensure high-quality standards. Famous for its millenial premium white wine tradition (since 970 AD), Franconia produces one of the most distinguished Sylvaner (Origin in Franconia 1659 AD), Müller Thurgau, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir of Central Europe.
For the 2019 vintage we need motivated and passionate individuals for these positions:
- Grape recevial operator: Managing incoming fruit alongside the resident staff, loading and unloading trucks, pressing, cleaning equipment, delivering the pressed juice to the cellar, prepare reds for fermenting, flotation and lees management, after harvest the candidates will continue working with the cellar colleagues
- Cellar Hands: Mainly for red and white wine cellar operations, flotation, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, biotechnologies, making additions and managing fermentations according to winemaker instructions, racking, barrique handling, wine finig and being involved in other winery-related tasks
- Laboratory Technican: Daily routine analyzing with FT-IR technology and semi-automated ferment control via density measure, sulphur analysis, stability evaluation, must be familiar with computers with data entry as a mandatory action
The ideal candidate has an excellent (Southern Hemisphere) sense of humour and up to 3 previous vintage cellar experiences under their belt, is able to work shifts of 10 hours in the peak of the harvest, brings a “can-do attitude”, asks questions, is passionate about wine, is detail-oriented and has the ability and desire to work hard. A knowledge of the German language is an advantage, but not essential.
We offer the successful candidate sponsored housing in the immediate sourrounding of the winery (containers on the winery yard), work from starting September to end of October, with the option to extend the stay by mutual agreement up to end of November, the lastest. Competitive salary, work clothes and gumboots are provided. Interns will get the opportunity to work with different grape varieties and the resulting styles, all in one harvest season.
