Uploaded: 07 January 2019

Closes: 07 February 2019

Leaderbrand Produce is one of New Zealand’s largest and most diverse horticultural businesses. A significant part of this is our vineyard and subsequent wine production; based in Gisborne, the operation covers 240ha of Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer vines.

We require Gondola Drivers and a Machine Harvester Operator for our 2019 Gisborne harvest. Harvest is estimated to begin on the 21st February 2019 and finish around the 20th March. Gondola Drivers must have some tractor driving experience and the Harvester Operator must have experience driving a grape harvester.

This is an ideal position for vineyard operators working further south wanting to experience a Gisborne vintage before the rest of the country kicks into harvest mode. Help will be provided with accommodation.

If you have the skills required, are willing to work long hours and want to experience what Gisborne and Leaderbrand Produce has to offer, then we want to hear from you.

Applications close: 1 March 2019

Only people eligible to work in this country should apply for this position. Please provide evidence of your work visa or citizenship.

  • Jobseekers should be aware that the start and finish dates of harvest work employment may change from those suggested by wineries at the time of your job offer. Vintage dates can not accurately be predicted.

It is therefore important that you understand that depending on your employment arrangements with the employer there may be a period of time where you have no work or less work than you were expecting, and should have sufficient financial arrangements in place should this occur. Your actual start and finish dates may vary - if you have queries around this, check with your winery employer before booking airline tickets etc.
