Mission Estate is a premium Hawke’s Bay winemaker producing wines for domestic and export markets. As a result of recent growth, an opportunity has arisen to join our team as Cellar Hand.
This role is based in our winery at beautiful Mission Estate in Hawke’s Bay, which produces both Mission and Ngatarawa brands.
The position works as part of the team responsible for completing the full range of cellar operations efficiently and to high standards, including wine transfers, racking, barrel work, filtration and blending. Applicants will need to be experienced in cellar work and have sound knowledge of wine production.
You need to be able to turn your hand to a range of other winery tasks, including work on the bottling line, packaging, warehousing, equipment maintenance and winery waste operations. A forklift license is desirable.
You need to be a team player who can work well with others, including a diverse team of seasonal vintage staff. Flexibility in hours is essential over the vintage period.
Commitment to quality is important, as all team members have a part to play ensuring compliance with quality, hygiene, safety and environmental standards and processes. Knowledge of WSMP and ISO 14001:2015 would be an advantage.
