Vintage Night shift Winemaker/Supervisor
Sileni Wines LP are now looking for a Vintage night shift Winemaker/Supervisor for the 2019 harvest.
Sileni Wines is based in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. Sileni Wines is named after the Sileni who featured in Greek mythology alongside Dionysus, the god of wine. They celebrated great wine, great food and great company, hence our aim at Sileni Wines is to produce excellent food-friendly, fruit-driven wines…and have a lot of fun doing it!
We produce Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Albarino, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah from across Hawke’s Bay’s diverse sub-regions, and also Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough.
We are after a self-motivated individual who has a strong work ethic, a practical disposition, is good at multi-tasking and working under pressure. Needs to have the ability to work well in a team and have great supervision skills. A positive attitude and a good sense of humour are essential, and of course a passion for making great wine!
A minimum of four full vintages experience is preferred (sorry, no first timers), and a relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous, but not essential. Excellent communication skills (English) and an understanding of Health and Safety practices required.
The Night shift Winemaker role will supervise this shift. This will be an extended contract, 6 months for the right person. Previous Shift supervision is a must, plus a strong understanding of the winemaking process.
We provide one meal per day during grape harvesting.
Sileni Wines LP is SWNZ accredited (Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand).

- Jobseekers should be aware that the start and finish dates of harvest work employment may change from those suggested by wineries at the time of your job offer. Vintage dates can not accurately be predicted.
It is therefore important that you understand that depending on your employment arrangements with the employer there may be a period of time where you have no work or less work than you were expecting, and should have sufficient financial arrangements in place should this occur. Your actual start and finish dates may vary - if you have queries around this, check with your winery employer before booking airline tickets etc.
