| Details: | The Wine and Food Markets, which will run every Sunday in January, will be held inside the Matakana Village Markets and utilise the existing stalls. This will allow for a close intimate setting as the Festival will run from 3pm until 8pm each Sunday. Emphasis has been placed on providing food to the public while allowing them to sample wines from most of the local wine producers. Many of those participating do not have cellar doors and will use this event to showcase their wines. Local musicians will provide a range of background music over the five Sunday evenings and music will range from single artists to full groups. Fully aware that this has been a particularly difficult year for many people, it was decided that a small and intimate rather than a large scale event would be the ideal way to present the diversification of the Matakana Winegrowing region to the many visitors of the area over the summer months. Entry will be free to the event by a charge of $5 will be charged for the festival wine glass on the first wine purchase. A lot of effort has gone into the planning of this event to ensure its success and so that it will become an annual attraction for the Matakana region over the summers to come.
