| Details: | Preliminary ProgrammeThe Board of Pinot Noir 2010 is working to design a comprehensive programme canvassing three key elements of New Zealand Pinot Noir on the international stage – its ageability, regional differentiation within New Zealand and the sustainable production of NZ wine.Kevin Roberts, worldwide CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, opens with a day that explores the regionality and ageability of New Zealand Pinot Noir. A panel discussion featuring award-winning author, wine consultant and television host, Leslie Sbrocco, and leading New Zealand winemakers, includes a vertical tasting of over 50 wines from different regions to allow delegates to taste for themselves the special regional qualities of our Pinot Noir. Day two includes a tasting and turns the discussion towards the thinking and practices around sustainability in both the vineyard and the marketplace. Speaking on this topic are international acclaimed wine writers Max Allen and Andrew Jefford as well as two leading New Zealand experts Nick Mills and Steve Smith MW. The third day is dedicated to New Zealand’s mark on the international stage and sharing our secrets with the world for producing a world-class Pinot Noir. Sharing their expertise will be a mix of leading international and local authorities such as Tim Atkins, Larry McKenna, Nigel Greening and Neal Martin. The focus of the day is shared between producing and marketing – appealing to both the makers and sellers of great wine. Other speakers that have confirmed for Pinot Noir 2010 include James Halliday (Australia), Ted Lemon (USA), Jamie Goode (UK) and Bob Campbell (NZ). |
