Make your mark as the winemaker by joining our fabulous team at Matahiwi Estate.

Matahiwi is a family owned business with a small team of dedicated staff producing award winning wines, situated near Masterton in the Wairarapa. You will join a vineyard manager, a sales manager and a part time financial manager reporting directly to the owner. We process fruit from our own 75ha vineyard planted in 1999, plus contracted fruit in our 1100 tonne winery.

You will be responsible for a small number of staff in the winery and all the moving parts and functions of the winery. You will also manage the wine audits, consents, health and safety procedures, winemaking documentation and compliance matters of the winery.

Tertiary winemaking qualifications and a minimum of 8 years winemaking in a number of wineries and countries is prerequisite. You will be a team player with good communication skills, motivated to contribute to the team’s goals of making delicious wines. You will be responsible for the production of award winning Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. Our wine brands have three tiers that are exported around the world. You will be participating in some of our marketing events which will involve some travel.
