Need help celebrating graduation?

Every year we award $300 to one student each from Lincoln University and EIT to help celebrate graduation.

How do we choose? Eligible students who have met the requirements to graduate with a wine/viticulture degree in the year (or 2 - depending on practical work requirements) immediately preceding the Graduation ceremony.

To be considered for a Graduation Grant, you need to complete some basic information for the sponsors, winejobsonline.com. You also need to read the "conditions" carefully so that you understand the application criteria.

The winejobsonline.com Graduation Grant is non-academic. All students may apply and have an equal chance. No skill required; Sadly, we cannot be bribed)

This grant helps out with the cost of attending your graduation ceremony. Maybe it's the help you need to make sure you're there on graduation day to celebrate your accomplishment.

It may be used for such things as:

  • Regalia hire
  • Travel expenses for self or family member
  • Framing of degree certificate
  • Family lunch or dinner
  • Celebratory bottle of champagne
  • Photographer - official portrait for the mantelpiece or the family album (Mum and Nana will be so proud!)
  • Piece of jewellery/keepsake (it's a girl thing, ok?)

This Grant is awarded at the discretion of Paddy and Heather Battersby, (winejobsonline.com) and a representative of your tertiary institution.

Conditions:

  • You must have completed your studies either 1 or 2 years prior to applying - that is to take into account those students who leave Uni and then work to complete the practical component of their degree.
  • You must attend the graduation ceremony. By applying, you are saying that you will. (If you’re not going to attend, then don’t apply. )
  • You'll need to send us a photograph of yourself on the day (having some fun is good!). (We will publish it on www.winejobsonline.com so it needs to be appropriate.)
  • You agree to receive information from winejobsonline.com about wine industry employment matters in the future.
  • You provide some personal details and a brief statement as to why you should win. Be original in your persuasion. Apply online below.
  • If after being awarded the Grant you do not attend the ceremony, you will not receive the funds.
  • Selection is at our discretion and no correspondence will be entered into.

Winners will be notified a few weeks prior to the graduation ceremony. Make sure you provide an email address where we can reach you after you have left uni.

If you have studied for your degree at either Lincoln or EIT and you will have completed the requirements to allow you to graduate in 2009 you may apply now. View the previous winners here.

Success Stories

"The ad with your site has worked a treat thanks! Excellent response."
Marlborough Vintners

"I just received news of acceptance last night for a harvest position in Marlborough, and a facility in Gisborne also contacted me for a job before that. So, in essence I should be thanking you for two jobs as it looks like I will be able to work both jobs. Both jobs came from winejobsonline.com- one replied to my jobseeker advertisement and one I applied for a vacancy you had listed. I have found out that essentially, it is understood that you are the source to go to for wine jobs in NZ...that is at least what I have been told by those in the industry- not a bad reputation to have!"
Evan de la Torre, United States

"Your job web site is very good - I've referred a lot of vintage winemakers to it and they find it really useful. Very unique for NZ and very useful - good work! Thanks."
